Irish Winter Championships Dublin

December 2022

Swimming in front of a home crowd in the Irish Winter Championships at the National Aquatic Centre in Dublin, Daniel broke the 800m Irish record again with a time of 7:25.96.  This time was also a new European Record.  This is the first time that an Irish swimmer has ever broken a European Record and ranks Daniel 1st in the world for the 2022 season and 4th fastest 800m swim EVER.

Wiffen Twins Stroke Clinic - Enniskillen Lakelanders

December 2022

Since the Olympic Games, Daniel has been visiting Schools either by video conference or in person and giving people to meet a real life Olympian and find out what is required for elite sport.

Daniel and Nathan (Wiffen Twins) ran a Stroke Clinic in December at Enniskillen Lakelanders where their big Brother Ben is head coach.

Scottish National Championships

December 2022

At the Scottish National Championships, again representing Loughborough, Daniel broke the Irish 1500m record with a time of 14:14.45 and ranks Daniel 1st in the world for the 2022 season and 6th fastest 1500m swim EVER!  Always in for a challenge, Dnaiel won his heat and was first into the final for the 400IM with a time of 4:13.21.  The then proceded to beat this in the final and set a new Irish Senior records with a time of 4:11.05.

Berlin World Cub & BUCS

October 2022

Following a 3-week altitude camp in Sierra Navada, Daniel went back to training and represented Ireland at the Berlin World Cup leg with a 1500m time of 14:41.76 with an 800m (split) of 7:49.08 and 400m time of 3:44,87.  In October, Daniel represented Loughborough University in the BUCS Championships, Daniel swam the 800m and setting a new Irish Record and a new BUCS record with a time of 7:39.03. In the 400m Daniel swam a time of 3:43.26 and 7:39.03 in the 800m Freestyle.
